Alternative House

Alternative House aims to help create a society that does not contain oppression and violence. They offer access to various resources like shelter, children’s programming, housing, and community advocacy for all victims of domestic violence (and their children) who look for their assistance. The organization wants to empower victims of domestic violence and lead them towards independence.

CTI: Financial Education Center

Community Teamwork’s Financial Education Center offers a host of programs that focus on the development and/or enhancement of personal finance skills and employment. Their staff have certifications in Financial Social Work, Credit Repair, Student Loan Counseling, Financial Career Coaching and in IRS Tax Preparation.

Element care

Element Care is a non-profit healthcare organization. They provide comprehensive healthcare and social services to eligible adults 55 and older through the Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE). Element Care PACE is a Medicare and Medicaid program that serves as both the person’s provider and insurer of care.

Greater lowell technical high school

Greater Lowell Technical High School commits to ensure students’ readiness for career, college, and citizenship in the 21st century. They challenge and support students as they realize their individual potential for personal and professional success.

Kids in tech

Kids in Tech was founded in 2016 in Lowell, Massachusetts to prepare disadvantaged kids with interactive, free after school programs in computers and technology. In the past three years, Kids in Tech has offered programs at four different sites serving low-income kids in the Lowell area. They strive to excite, educate, and empower children to acquire skills and confidence in technology.

Lowell community health center

Lowell Community Health Center’s mission is to provide caring, quality, and culturally competent health services to the people of Greater Lowell, regardless of their financial status; to reduce health disparities and enhance the health of the Greater Lowell community; and to empower each individual to maximize their overall well-being.

Merrimack Valley Food Bank

The Merrimack Valley Food Bank is a community-supported 501C-3 non-profit organization that provides nutritious food and personal care items to emergency feeding programs serving the low-income, homeless and hungry. They are one of four food banks in Massachusetts that serves food pantries, shelters and meal programs that in turn, serve individuals and families.

Mill City Grows

Mill City Grows fosters food justice by improving physical health, economic independence, and environmental sustainability in Lowell through increased access to land, locally-grown food, and education. They plan to:
Expand food access through building or collaborating to create safe spaces for residents to grow, shop, and cook food together.
Empower their community through engagement in food justice education.
Catalyze advancement of innovative food system models rooted in local values.

Pollard Memorial Library

The Pollard Memorial Library is a vibrant community hub and Lowell’s gateway to knowledge, meeting the information needs and enriching the quality of life in the community. The mission of the library is to provide diverse collections, state-of-the-art technology, appealing programs and services to Lowell’s diverse population in a safe and welcoming environment.

Summit ElderCare

Fallon Health’s Program of All-Inclusive Care for the Elderly (PACE), Summit ElderCare, offers complete, coordinated, individualized care for older adults who want to live at home instead of a nursing home. The program’s team of geriatric care professionals works with participants and caregivers to address each individual's specific needs.

The Wish Project

The Wish Project’s mission is to help families in need establish long-term residency by providing basic needs to provide critical immediate assistance to homeless families, victims of fire or disaster; and to support the community. Their goal is to provide local people in need with basic furniture, home goods and baby goods, while helping the planet by recycling used goods.

The Boys & Girls Club of Greater Lowell

Our Vision: To end generational poverty in Lowell.

Our Mission: To inspire and enable young people, especially those who need us most, to realize their full potential as productive, responsible and caring citizens.

At Boys and Girls Club: All young people ages 8-18 are welcome, our members represent diverse socio-economic and ethnic backgrounds. We seek to provide a safe environment that meets our members’ basic needs as well as supports their growth and education.

Our services cover Child and Family Services, Community Resources and Energy, Financial Education, Housing and Homeless Services, Food and Nutrition (WIC/Farmers’ Market) and over 35 additional programs to help those in need. We serve over 56,000 people in 72 communities in Middlesex and Essex Counties.

Dental Dreams focuses on great customer experience and top-tier dental services for children and adults. Dental Dreams provides a wide range of procedures or dental-related processes that will keep their patients’ teeth in good condition. They are happy to serve the community of Lowell.

Founded in 1977, Fallon Health provides health care services designed to meet the unique and changing needs of all they serve. Fallon is both an insurer and provider of care. Their uniquely developed provider networks offer high-quality, cost-effective, coordinated care and give our members access to physicians and hospitals throughout Massachusetts and southern New Hampshire.

Hope Dove

Hope Dove, Inc. is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization dedicated to helping disabled individuals and those living in extreme poverty so they can have a better quality of life. They focus on providing all possible help that is within their reach.

Latinx Community Center for Empowerment

The Latinx Community Center for Empowerment (LCCE) intends to help the Latinx community through education, solutions, information, and support. LCCE has a team of specialists that coordinate access to special programs that assist the Latinx community with improving their communication and English skills and thought process. This approach helps them feel better prepared in the workforce. In addition, LCCE hosts community events and provides Spanish-speaking residents with interpretation and translation assistance for free.

Lowell Historic National Park

Lowell Historic National Park seeks to help people uncover Lowell’s continuing revolution through informative tours of the city and by showcasing the great history it contains with its landmarks, historic buildings, and captivating stories. They present a vast amount of resources that could also be found online.

Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership

The Merrimack Valley Housing Partnership (MVHP) offers a comprehensive series of homebuyer training seminars, Project Genesis, and individual financial and credit counseling. They conduct monthly Landlord Training seminars for those interested in purchasing multifamily properties. MVHP also provides administrative and technical support for down payment assistance programs for first-time home buyers.

MSPCA

Through partnerships with established social service organizations MSPCA hopes to increase access to medical care, animal care resources and services for pets in The Acre and Back Central neighborhoods of Lowell. The MSPCA at Nevins Farm and Lowell Humane Society, with the help of PetSmart Charities offers low cost spay/neuter services for dogs and cats, low cost wellness veterinary exams, free pet food and pet care supplies, free behavior hotline, pop-up neighborhood vaccination clinics, and free transportation to veterinary appointments.

Project learn

Project LEARN is a 501(c)(3) organization that believes every young person in Lowell deserves the opportunity to learn, succeed, and thrive. Since 2014, their organization has developed and coordinated dozens of innovative programs that have touched the lives of tens of thousands of students, families, and educators in Lowell.

The Center for Hope and Healing

The Center for Hope and Healing, Inc. (CHH) was founded in 1976 by a group of physicians, social workers and students who came together out of concern for the number of rapes in Lowell and who then committed themselves to eradicating sexual violence in Lowell and the surrounding communities. CHH’s vision drives its goals to strengthen culturally-relevant advocacy, promote prevention and community engagement, and influence public policy and systems change.

By adopting a coordinated, comprehensive and holistic approach, the Lowell Healthy Homes Program aims to reduce the burden of asthma, improve the quality of life for asthmatic children and their families, and create safer home environments. The program focuses on several housing issues including mold and mildew, pest management, dust mites, and home safety.

Workers Credit Union

Workers Credit Union provides all the products and services to help improve the daily lives of their members. They are also known for our Workers Way Program.  It is personalized, one-on-one financial coaching designed to help members achieve their goals at any life stage.

Women's Money Matters provides financial wellness programs for women and girls living on low incomes. Our unique program combines instructional financial wellness workshops and personal, one-to-one coaching.We don’t just provide an environment to gain financial skills, learn new strategies, and tackle financial issues, but also a community of support from other women who are in similar situations.

D.i.y. Lowell

DIY Lowell was founded in 2015 by two community members after extensive discussions with leaders across the city. They are a grassroots group dedicated to helping community members make small-scale projects and events happen together. We connect people with ideas to funding, technical assistance, and most importantly to one another.

Greater Lowell Health Alliance

Greater Lowell Health Alliance (GLHA) is comprised of healthcare providers, business leaders, educators, civic and community leaders with a common goal to help the Greater Lowell community identify and address its health and wellness priorities. They aim to sustain a strategic alliance of community organizations that improves the overall health and wellness of those living in the Greater Lowell Region.

Jim’s Sticks

A range of handcrafted walking sticks, crafted from native wood found along the Merrimack River & Lowell Canal System. These pieces are made by James “Jim” Sarantakis. His works can be found at Arts League Of Lowell (ALL).

Lowell alliance

The mission of Lowell Alliance is to help families and neighborhoods thrive by connecting them with critical resources and empowering them to fulfill their vision for the community. They work to: Educate families and residents about and improve their access to community resources. Engage families and residents in community and civic life; empower them to improve their lives and communities through leadership and networking opportunities. Advocate for families to ensure their voices are heard and teach self-advocacy skills so they can create positive change in their lives. Collaborate with community stakeholders to maximize existing resources and develop community-driven solutions to local challenges.

The Lowell Housing Authority was founded in 1937 as a result of the Housing Act of 1937. The agency is the first public housing authority in Massachusetts and is now the states’ third largest. Since the organizations’ inception, the Authority has been tasked with providing “safe, decent, and sanitary housing” for low income residents of the community.

Middlesex Community College

Middlesex Community College (MCC) has been providing students of all ages affordable education and opportunities for decades. With their academic support, honors programs, and certificates and degrees, students have unique options and the chance to explore their interests. MCC is a place where students can start their career paths and shape their futures.

Nonotuck

Nonotuck offers Shared Living, Adult Family Care, and personalized day services for people with disabilities. They are dedicated to their mission of providing people with disabilities a choice, a voice and the opportunity to live authentic lives. Nonotuck provides support and services at locations in Boston and across Massachusetts and they are the largest shared living organization in the state.

Solidarity Lowell is a volunteer-based group of community members of Greater Lowell working toward social justice by defending the human rights, dignity, and equality of all persons against hate and discrimination.

The Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust

The Lowell Parks & Conservation Trust (LP&CT) is a private, non-profit land trust founded in 1990 by residents with a vision to protect the natural resources upon which the city of Lowell was built. The LP&CT mission is to improve the quality of life for the people of Lowell through education and the creation, conservation, and preservation of parks, open spaces, and special places. We accomplish this by providing access to open space and programs that engage people in Lowell’s backyard and enhance the quality of life for those who live here.

The Behavioral Health Help Line (BHHL) connects individuals and families to the full range of treatment services for mental health and substance use offered in Massachusetts, including outpatient, urgent, and immediate crisis care.
